CTC - Cyclists Touring ClubCTC is the UK's national cyclists' organisation with more than 70,000 members and supporters at home and throughout the world. CTC provides technical advice, information, a magazine, cycling related legal aid, insurance, organised tours, specialist mail order, and thousands of cycling events annually. CTC is also in charge of The National Standard, a three level cycling training scheme that puts making a journey at the heart of the training. London Cycling CampaignThe London Cycling Campaign is a member organisation that promotes cycling in Greater London by raising awareness of cycling issues, campaigning to improve conditions for cyclists, and providing services for members. Services include: free automatic third party insurance, free legal advice, bike shop discounts, optional theft insurance, bimonthly magazine London Cyclist, organised rides, and advise on all aspects of cycling. SustransSustrans - the sustainable transport charity - works on practical projects to encourage people to walk, cycle and use public transport in order to reduce motor traffic and its adverse effects. 5,000 miles of their flagship project, the National Cycle Network, were officially opened in June 2000; 10,000 miles will be open in 2005. As well as the National Cycle Network, Sustrans is working on Safe Routes to Schools, Home Zones and other practical responses to the transport and environment challenges we face. Sustrans' work relies on donations and monthly standing orders of nearly 40 000 supporters, and the support of charitable trusts, companies and the National Lottery and local authority programmes.
