This is a website that launched in March 2006 to support a PR and poster campaign to get Manchester motorists out of their cars and on to bikes. It might be Machester-centric but it's a good all-round site for newcomers to cycling, especially commuters. |

According to the Inland Revenue the 'authorised mileage rate', free of income tax and NICs to employees who use their own cars and 'pedal cycles', for business travel is 20p per business mile for cyclists. This tax-relief is discretionary so no business HAS to offer a 'cycle incentive' rate. Business mile? This is a payment for using a bicycle AT work not going TO and FROM work. |
