Plenty will disagree, but this THE road race of the year. it's a three week test of muscles versus topography. For many people, the Tour de France is the only stage race they'll follow in any given year. The race - the world's biggest annual sporting event - is front page news and daily TV fodder almost everywhere except the UK. But the internet has enabled those interested in following every twist and turn, every wheel change and feed station transit, to keep bang up to date. Via this, the official site, there are links to OLNtv.com, the cable channe; that broadcasts the Tour de France in the US. Snippets of sound and video can be accessed at the end of each day's stage but real results junkies read the minute-by-minute progress reports filed by journalists watching the live TV coverage available only on continental Europe. |
